# Competency Desk

Competency Desk is a free, private workspace for engineers preparing the competency-based assessment (CBA) of their work experience for a Canadian engineering licence. It holds experience records and validators, gives each competency a Situation, Action and Outcome editor with live character counts, and checks months of experience, minimum ratings, category averages and validator rules against published regulator guides, each with the source cited. Profiles: Ontario (34 competencies) for Professional Engineers Ontario; Alberta (22 competencies) for APEGA; Shared system: BC and five other provinces (34 competencies) for Engineers and Geoscientists BC, APEGS (Saskatchewan), Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba, Engineers and Geoscientists New Brunswick, Engineers PEI, PEGNL (Newfoundland and Labrador). - Competency Desk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Professional Engineers Ontario, APEGA, Engineers and Geoscientists BC, Engineers Canada or any other engineering regulator.
- Competency Desk does not determine your assessment outcome; the regulator's assessors decide. It is a drafting and checking helper, not an official form or evaluation.
- Competency Desk never writes, rewrites or suggests example text. There is no AI, no phrase bank and no autocomplete: every word is yours.
- Character limits marked unverified in a profile are defaults the documents did not confirm; the live portal governs.

## Pricing

Free. No paid plan is offered at present. Every feature is open to everyone with no account. Nothing is uploaded: drafts stay in the browser.
